Oh! Fair To See
Oh, fair to see
Bloom-laden cherry tree,
Arrayed in sunny white:
An April day’s delight,
Oh, fair to see!
Oh, fair to see
Fruit-laden cherry tree,
With balls of shining red
Decking a leafy head,
Oh, fair to see!
-- by Christina Rossetti
Now stir the fire, and close the shutters fast,
Let fall the curtains, wheel the sofa round,
And, while the bubbling and loud-hissing urn
Throws up a steamy column, and the cups
That cheer but not inebriate, wait on each,
So let us welcome peaceful evening in.
-- William Cowper (1731-1800)
"The Winter Evening" (Book Four), _The Task_ (1784)

Beautiful tree and poem!
Yes, Bernideen, I grew up with Christina Rossetti's poetry, and I really like her work. I love when fruit trees are in bloom, and this was a nice photo that I found on the web. We have an orange tree that is blooming now, so the air is really fragrant (which I love), but orange blossoms aren't very showy like these pink ones. I think that is a peach or apricot tree in the photo.
