For costumes, I'm thinking "summer walking dress" of any era between, say, 1776 and 1960, and if it happens to be red, white, or blue, that's good, but not required. The parade will march through the Rose Garden area of San Jose for about 1.5 miles, beginning at 10 a.m. and ending around noon. The parade line-up is at 8 a.m., though, so that's when we'd need to be at the staging area at West San Carlos and Shasta Ave.
So, who wants to walk in the parade? This is a family/hometown-type parade so kids and spouses can dress up and walk with us. I'm going to see if I can get/borrow a little red wagon to decorate in bunting and use to carry water bottles/purses with us during the parade. E-mail the South Bay Ladies' Tea Guild
